Preparedness for disasters is an issue that is near and dear to my heart. Nature and manmade disasters are devastating to people’s lives, the economy, and the environment. I'm a student at Portland Community College and this is my honors project. I've done a lot of service work over the years and if there one thing that I learned, it is that doing volunteer work pays you with rewards that money just can't buy. I want others to know these rewards because it'll help make us better people and improve our world one action at a time.
